I have good news here people! It is called a life lesson–seems like I have been having a lot of those lately. This one involved my beloved–sugar. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that sugar is my major downfall, I love it even though I know how bad it is for me. Last week I decided to throw caution to the wind and have sugar more than usual.
Well. My body was unimpressed. Here is what happened:
- I broke out on my face
- I got sores on sensitive areas of my body, like I used to in my youth = lots of pain
- My heel felt worse
- My sleep was erratic
I didn’t start putting things together until I started breaking out on my skin. Then I realized all the sugar in my systems was making my body freak out. So Saturday I stopped altogether and in 2 days here is the change in my body:
- My skin has cleared up
- My sleep is better
- I was able to walk all day today without pain in my heel! First time since I hurt myself that this happened!
This is the best negative reinforcement I could have asked for. Apparently sugar inflames my body. I know I won’t stop eating it forever, but I am going to make sure I don’t go crazy in the future. My body’s reaction isn’t worth the sweet taste in my mouth. And even if I don’t fully believe it right now, I know in my gut it’s the truth. {ha ha literally!}
