BBQ Sauce Recipe

IMG_3377I made this sauce with my food prep group of friends and we all loved it! This zesty little sauce is easy to make and looks super cute in mason jars! If you want to add some pizzazz to your meats, I encourage you to make this..and store in a mason jar. Thank to Well Fed 2 for the recipe, it;s delightful.

Ingredients:

1 cup of water

1 16oz can of tomato paste

1/3 cup of unsweetened apple sauce

1/4 cup of cider vinegar

2 tbsp coconut aminos

1 tbsp dijon mustard

1 tbsp sunflower seed butter {sugar free}

1 tsp hot pepper sauce

1 date, pit removed

1 tbsp coconut oil, melted

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tsp chili powder

1/ tsp of cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp dry mustard powder

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp black pepper

pinch of cloves

pinch of all spice

Prep:

I am not going to lie, we winged this recipe. Hayley forgot the cookbook and the only picture we shared between us was one of the ingredients. So what we did {that worked out} was to put all the ingredients into a food processor, let it whirl until everything is mixed {that date likes to fight being chopped up}. Once everything is mixed, toss it into a saucepan and cook until it is simmering. I let it cook for a bit so all the flavours could mingle and come together. Once warm, pour into something that you can seal and store in your fridge.
