Last weekend I had the distinct pleasure of volunteering for my box’s first crossfit competition, and it was a blast. I have never been to a competition so I had no idea what to expect, all I knew was I was part of the put up and take down WOD team. This meant meeting the night before to set up the first WOD, meet with my team and discuss final details for the morning.
I volunteered to bring coffee and breakfast for the volunteers, so I picked up 2 things of Starbuck’s coffee and I made a huge round of the apple cider donuts, which were a huge hit! I was there at 6am, which was crazy early. But teams started to arrive at 6:30am, as well as vendors. It was amazing to see a well organized event take to life. The first wave was scheduled to start at 8am, and they needed all that time to register everyone (44 teams!), warm up and get ready to compete.
There were four (4) rounds, with 2 WOD’s in each round until round four. Programmed by John, these WOD’s contained thrusters, running, kettlebell swings, rope climbs, handstand push ups, fireman carries, clean and jerks, double unders and sit ups.Ā It was amazing to watch, and I am thankful for my role, as it allowed me to take tons of pictures after setting up the WOD’s. The physical prowess of these athletes was humbling and I loved cheering on all the people from my box.
Enjoy the pictures below, they are a good representation of the fun that happened.

The only picture of me you will see, taken by my friend Sabrina, who is a legit photographer. Thankfully she gave me permission to share this photo š
